Using audio as an enhanced learning tool

A case study outlining a trial using audio recordings as summaries of the key points from Chemical Science for Engineers lectures(BEng and MEng).

This is a first year compulsory 10 credit module consisting of a class of 130 registered students. The audio summaries were posted in MP3 and MP4 format on the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and students were invited to listen. The students on the module were surveyed at the end of the term and responded very positively to these learning resources which were available in addition to the lectures.
