Widening access to higher education: Turning revised Recognition of Prior Learning guidance into reality: A case study - HEA Annual Conference 2017 - Generation TEF: Teaching in the spotlight

Aim: Explore the development and implementation of a revised code of practice for RPL for widening access to Higher Education using a case study.

Objectives: 1. Explore the development of a University wide approach to RPL 2. Discuss the unique challenges of RPL for health care programmes 3. Critically explore the support mechanisms for staff and students  4. Debate how RPL should be evaluated from the student’s perspective. The University of Surrey’s journey will be presented from revised QAA guidance to revised code of practice for the assessment of RPL and their implementation where uptake varies.
