Nominations for the 2022 National Teaching Fellowship (NTF) and Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) awards are now open. We invited past winner Earle Abrahamson from the University of East London to discuss his award, what it means to him and his thoughts on what teaching excellence means in practice.
He said: "In real terms it's about creating and inspiring a group or community of practice, and not only to achieve it but to maintain it. It's about what we can do to transform and shape the future. I also think it needs to be about a multi-level process rather than simply a product."
He also gave some advice to future award nominees, encouraging people to 'just do it', but also don't be disheartened if you are not successful first time around as the 'process of failure is an equally important part of the journey. Timing is important'. Watch the full interview with Earle below:
