Subject-Led Network Events Launched at Cardiff University

29 Nov 2018 | Advance HE Advance HE has launched a programme of engagement to explore how Subject-Led Networks should be shaped, beginning with an event at Cardiff University . This is the first in a series of network events taking place at Higher Education Institutions and online.

Previously, the UK sector had subject-level support in teaching and learning through ‘subject centres’; some of which still exist. Evidence shows that today subject-level challenges run deeper than teaching and learning – there are equality, diversity and inclusion issues, and leadership approaches that need to be looked at differently through a subject ‘lens’. Working with members, Advance HE will develop a model for subject communities to look at this more complex array of challenges. With around 350 member institutions across the UK and the rest of the world, Advance HE is uniquely placed to support academics in this area.

Subject-Led Network events can be booked by accessing your Advance HE My Academy account. If you do not have an account these can easily be set up HERE.

The subject communities are freely available to staff, as part of membership. If you have any questions please contact networks@advance-he.ac.uk
