Professor Bernard Moss has a particular interest in communication skills which he has taught to social work students at Staffordshire University, where he has spearheaded the involvement of service users and carers in a skills lab programme. His teaching has been described by students as 'inspirational'.
He has produced a DVD on the use of large group role play techniques in Higher Education. His NTF project is an exploration into ways in which issues to do with religion and spirituality can be included in a social work curriculum. He is also involved in similar developments in medical, health and social care curricula.
His career has included work as a probation officer; relationship counsellor; faith community leadership and university chaplaincy, before joining Staffordshire University in 1993. His teaching interests also include death, dying and bereavement.
