Professor Iain Campbell Mackie

National Teaching Fellow 2004 Iain Mackie is Professorial Teaching Fellow and an Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry at the School of Dentistry, University of Manchester. Iain was awarded his National Teaching Fellowship in 2004 when he was Senior Lecturer. In 2005 he gained internal promotion to become the first Professorial Teaching Fellow of the University of Manchester.

National Teaching Fellow 2004 Iain Mackie is Professorial Teaching Fellow and an Honorary Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry at the School of Dentistry, University of Manchester. Iain was awarded his National Teaching Fellowship in 2004 when he was Senior Lecturer. In 2005 he gained internal promotion to become the first Professorial Teaching Fellow of the University of Manchester. Iain's main experiences and interests lie in Quality Assurance and Enhancement of students' learning and teaching. He was a Subject Reviewer for Dentistry and is currently a General Dental Council Inspector for dental programmes in the UK. Iain is his Faculty's lead for Quality in Learning and Teaching. Dentistry is in the same faculty as Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy and Psychology so he has developed his expertise in quality management across most health-related professions. Iain is currently very busy overseeing the implementation of a completely interactive five-year undergraduate Bachelor of Dentistry programme. This is based on EBL/PBL, small group learning, team working and evidence-based dentistry.
