National Teaching Fellow 2003 Michael Manogue is Professor of Dental Education at the University of Leeds and Director of Learning and Teaching in the Leeds Dental Institute. He is Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Dental Education. His research interests are focused primarily upon clinical assessment, particularly in dentistry. His PhD study concerned the OSCE mode of assessment and provided a critical rationale for its use in undergraduate dental students. Most recently, he has been concerned very much with the development and implementation of a radically different five-year undergraduate dental programme in Leeds, which integrates science and clinical dentistry from the outset. The programme reaches its culmination in 2009 and has taught as much about the process of change management as the implementation of a new clinical/academic curriculum.
