National Teaching Fellow 2001 Ursula Lucas is Professor of Accounting Education at the Bristol Business School, University of the West of England, Bristol. She is also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Her teaching and research interests are concerned with the development of a reflective capacity. In support of this she has conducted research on lecturers' conceptions of teaching, students' conceptions of learning and perceptions of key skills development. Her most recent research (with Dr Phaik Tan) is concerned with the development of students' beliefs about knowledge (ways of knowing) during placement learning. Her teaching and curriculum development work is concerned with the design of pedagogy to support the development of a reflective capacity.
