Alyson Agar is a senior lecturer in research and scholarly activity, teaching across MA Design History, MA Design Practice and MA Arts Practice at The Northern School of Art, Hartlepool, UK. Alyson is the Editor of PAD | Perspectives in Art and Design, The Northern School of Art's online journal for research and scholarly activity, which celebrates staff and students' academic and practice-based creative investigations. Alyson's research and scholarly activity explores photographic and film practice and its relationship to landscape, specifically how engaging in photographic practice can inspire and awaken deeper connections to natural green spaces at the time of climate emergency. As a visual artist, Alyson has exhibited nationally and internationally, exhibiting at MIMA (Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art), Northern Gallery for Contemporary Art (Sunderland, UK), Sakaide Art Gallery (Japan) and Santorini Biennale of Arts (Greece).
