What the project is?
UWS is taking forward a project that develops the concept of ‘Student Voice’ into one of ‘Student Agency’ in its approach to pedagogy student engagement and representation sharing of data analytics with students and organisational development. We will take forward an existing innovative project within the School of Media Culture and Society (MCS) into a University-wide programme supported by our Students’ Association (SAUWS). As such the project represents a cross-domain commitment to enhancing student engagement via agency.
What the project hopes to achieve?
The project is focused on developing a Student Dashboard system characterised by student success paths allowing staff and students to see when and where a student is likely to deviate from a path towards a successful outcome. The system will have links to and from Banner attendance records library usage statistics assessment results Moodle engagement statistics Evasys results for module evaluation class averages for modules and programmes marks across modules for the past two sessions and standard deviations. This data will allow students to take informed decisions about future option choices.
