As a former early years and primary teacher the overarching narrative underpinning Professor Mark O'Hara's career in HE is one of widening participation and inclusion for students and staff alike. He makes sure that academic protocols are made explicit to all and fosters a spirit of cooperation, recognising teamwork and effort as well as individual attainment.

As an ancient historian, Dr Matthew Nicholls is particularly interested in researching and creating digital models of ancient Rome, its buildings and urban environment. He has developed this interest, in partnership with students, into unique award-winning undergraduate teaching.

Dr. Lizzie Miles, Principal Lecturer in Humanitarian Engineering, was Policy Fellow at the Department for Education and Network Coordinator of the UNESCO UNTWIN in Humanitarian Engineering at Coventry University. She has a PhD in Engineering, an MBA in Engineering Management and was a Royal Society Researcher in Japan for two years.

Samuel A Messam started his career delivering personal and professional development programmes before moving into sports development. Specifically, he moved to the role of Coach Development Officer for an Active Sport Partnership, blending his passion for coaching with the provision of development opportunities. He enjoyed five successful years in the role, hosting conferences, workshops and implementing a county-wide mentoring programme before moving in to education.

Dr Fiona McCullough is a registered dietitian, who has influenced the development of the dietetics workforce, during her career in higher education. Teaching is much more a passion and a work of heart, than the day job! As Director of Dietetics Education, over the last eight years, Fiona has developed a Learning Beyond Registration (LBR) portfolio.

Professor Elizabeth McCrum is currently a Teaching and Learning Dean at the University of Reading. She has previously held a number of leadership roles in teaching and learning including as Associate Dean for Teaching and Learning for the Faculty of Science and as School Director of Teaching and Learning for the School of Education.

Dr. Lindsay Marshall joined the Computing Science Department of Newcastle University in 1981 where he developed the Newcastle Connection, one of the first systems supporting distributed computing under UNIX. More recently he designed and built a learning support system which is now used across Newcastle University.

Dr Colin James Lumsden is a Senior Lecturer and Honorary Consultant Paediatrician in the NHS. He qualified as a doctor of medicine in 1995 and undertook postgraduate training in Paediatrics in the Northwest region, completing specialist training in 2005 and becoming a consultant paediatrician at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals where he continues to practice as a neonatologist and allergist.

Dr Jacqueline Leigh moved into academia from being a Senior Nurse Manager in the NHS. Since qualifying as a registered nurse in 1986 Jacqueline has maintained her professional registration and gained a BSc (Hons) in Nursing and Masters in Health Professional Education. She also completed her PhD in 2012 and in 2017 was awarded Principal Fellow Higher Education Academy.

Megan became an NTF in 2017. In 2018 she was conferred as Professor of Learning and Teaching in Academic Practice. She is dyslexic and passionate about challenging traditional approaches to learning, teaching and assessment focusing on inclusive and affirming practices. She publishes on imposter syndrome, transnational education, flipped learning, staff development, neurodiversity, and visual research methodologies.
