Institution at the time of award: University of Birmingham. Di is the Programme Director for the MSW and has 15 years' experience in interprofessional education. She was awarded a National Teaching Fellowship in recognition of excellence in teaching and learning in 2002. She has a background in psychology and social work, specialising in the field of mental health since 1991, with experience spanning the voluntary, statutory and prison sectors.

Dr Michael Winstanley was a Senior Lecturer in the Department of History at Lancaster University, where he worked until 2010.
Michael is using his Fellowship money to develop, expand and promote the use of archives for Community History and web-based learning. He has developed a dialogue with the archival sector in the North West in order to promote lifelong learning opportunities and readier access to HE, and to enhance students' learning experience through the exploitation of the region's rich archival and library resources.

Dr Alan Booth was Reader in History in the School of History at the University of Nottingham and Co-Director of the University's CETL (Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning) in Integrative Learning. Alan is a Dearing Award winner at the University for excellence in teaching, and was from 2000-2007 Co-Director for History in the Higher Education Academy Subject Centre for History, Classics and Archaeology.

Institution at the time of award: University of Manchester. Jocelyn Wyburd is Executive Director of the University Language Centre at the University of Manchester. Jocelyn specialises in the management of teaching and learning services concerned with languages for the whole University. Jocelyn has been at the University for nine years and has also overseen a merger of two language centres when the University of Manchester merged with UMIST in 2004.

Until his retirement in December 2008, Alan Clements was Professor of Computing in the School of Computing at the University of Teesside. Alan has been at the University for 30 years and specialises in teaching computer architecture.

Susan specialises in learning technologies and teaching development in the Centre for the Enhancement of Learning & Teaching (CELT) at Lancaster University.
Susan used her fellowship to research ways to assist and support academic staff with the implementation of networked learning, specifically the use of Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs), so that they become an integral part of teaching practice.

Ruth Soetendorp: Professor Emerita and Associate Director of the Centre for Intellectual Property Policy and Management at Bournemouth University. Ruth is a visiting Professor at Middlesex University Business School; member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys Education Committee, Intellectual Property Institute, and founding convenor of the Intellectual Property Awareness Networks education sub-group, and founding chair of the Legal Education subject group of the Society of Legal Scholars.
