It was found that while the Health and Life Sciences (HLS) Faculty had 19% representation of BAME staff, only 9.1% of the Faculty Executive Committee were BAME. This was in comparison to other Faculty Executive committees that had greater BAME representation compared to all Faculty staff. For example, Arts, Design and Humanities (ADH) had a 23.8% BAME representation on the Faculty Executive committee, compared to 9% BAME representation in the faculty. In the directorates, Library and Learning Services, and Marketing and  Communications key committees, both exceed their respective BAME populations. HLS responded with pro‐active development support through appraisal, and were well placed for this balance to change given the number of senior BAME academic staff the faculty has.
